From June 4–6, the IBC came together in Kandersteg for a retreat full of scientific exchange, collaboration, and team-building. Research groups shared their projects and ideas in engaging talks and poster sessions, sparking new connections across research groups. Social highlights included a scenic hike and a fun murder mystery game, which brought everyone together in a relaxed and playful atmosphere.

We’ve broken records... again! 
Our team completed 113 km in an incredible 09:42:53, improving our time by 35 minutes!
We’re proud to be the top team among the six representing the Institute of Biochemistry.

This week, a team of nine internationally renowned experts assessed the Department of Biology. As part of the review, several institute representative members of our lab, Gabriel, Marina and Gloria, engaged in discussions covering research, work conditions, and departmental operations.  

The G-Floor team hit the slopes at Flumserberg for an unforgettable ski day! Some enjoyed skiing, others took to the sledges, and a few opted for a scenic winter walk. We all came together for a well-deserved lunch ans some card games. It was a day full of fun, fresh air, and fantastic company!  

We are excited to welcome Rocio to our lab! She joins us as a postdoc after completing her PhD in Finland. Looking forward to her contributions and collaborations. Welcome to the team!

Congratulations to our Lab Manager, Gloria, for her contribution to a recently published paper in Science Advances! The study, "Reduced RG-II pectin dimerization disrupts differential growth by attenuating hormonal regulation," builds on work from her postdoc. Well done!
