We're kicking off an exciting year of sustainability challenges with GreenLab Zürich! This month’s task: Gather information about our ULT Freezers, display the informational poster, and snap a photo with it. Let’s have fun while working together toward a greener future!

Our talented PhD students, Marianna and Marina, delivered a wonderful performance as part of the IBC Christmas choir. Their singing set the perfect tone for the evening, leading into a fantastic dinner. A wonderful way to wrap up the year with our team!

Prof. Dr. Gabriel Neurohr was selected as a new member of the EMBO Young Investigator Programme. Starting in January, he will be an active member of the programme for four years, and will become part of an international network of nearly 800 current and former EMBO Young Investigators, Installation Grantees and Global Investigators. Congratulations on this achievement!

For the second year in a row, the Neurohr Lab took home the Halloween Group prize at the happy hour hosted by the Weis Lab. This year, we rocked the competition with our creative "Heavy Metals" theme!

We are happy to share that our Postdoc Dr. Sandhya Manohar has been awarded an SNSF Ambizione career grant. Starting in October 2024, she will join the Department for Molecular Mechanisms of Disease at the University of Zürich as a junior group leader. Wishing her all the best in this new role!

Tamara will join our lab for one year as a Project Mobility student to complete her Master Thesis with us. We wish her all the best as she embarks on this exciting journey!

Inspired by the Summer Olympics, this year's annual IBC barbecue was preceded by an Institute Olympics. Our lab joined forces with the rest of G Floor and we obtained a total of 8 medals!

Stephanie is the first PhD student to graduate from Neurohr Lab. We’re excited to celebrate this milestone and wish her all the best in her future endeavors!

Together with the other Assistant Professors' groups, the Neurohr Lab organized this year's annual Happy Hour, with the theme "Generation Clash." A big thank you to everyone involved in organizing this enjoyable event!

Congrats Sandhya and Gabriel for this review published at The FEBS Journal! The article explores how increased cell size drives cellular senescence, disrupts physiology, and impacts cancer therapies targeting cell cycle arrest. 

Our PhD student Marina won the best poster prize at the BML Day, celebrated on June 13th in Zurich, with her poster entitled "How is Intracellular Density Regulated?"

Our Postdoc, Dr. Federico Zucca, has been awarded an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship. We are excited about his continued success and the new opportunities ahead!

Neurohr Lab took home the prize for Best Costume at the Happy Hour organized by Peter's Lab, with this year's theme being the Olympics. A big thank you to everyone who made this fun event possible!

They have not only excelled in the most famous relay race in Zurich but also shattered their previous records. A huge shoutout to the entire lab and our amazing running friends!
