Michaela Ristova
Michaela did her PhD at the University of Edinburgh, where she studied cellular stress responses. Her research focused on characterizing an RNA-binding protein essential for yeast adaptation to glucose starvation, and she also developed an improved method for identifying protein-RNA interactions. Now, in the Weis lab, she is investigating which DEAD-box ATPases regulate RNA foci formation in an in vivo neurodegenerative disease model.
Outside the lab, Michaela enjoys trail running, hiking, and reading a good book.
