Maxime Fondin

After obtaining my very French engineering degree at ESPCI-Paris PSL, I did a Master at the interface between physics and biology at the Université Paris Cité, working on microtubules and lipid membrane curvature. I have always been passionate about trying to understand major regulatory phenomena in eukaryotic cells, and I therefore joined the Weis lab for my PhD, where I will further develop the Cell-iSCAT microscopy introduced in the lab by Pablo Gómez García to label active transport complexes. Due to the very high spatial and temporal resolution of the microscopy and the possibility of long range tracking, I hope to make new breakthroughs in the field of nucleocytoplasmic transport.

Outside the lab, I like to enjoy the beautiful Swiss nature by hiking or running. You can also find me in concert halls or at other musical events.
