Felix Räsch
Felix did his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Biology in Tübingen, where he studied deadenylation and mRNA decay. There, he frequently came across cytoplasmic condensates whose functions remained, despite huge collective efforts, astonishingly elusive. Driven by the desire to learn more about them, he joined the Weis lab, where he is trying to understand how condensate hardening affects the survival and aging of cells. To achieve this, he follows single mRNAs live in human cells and tests how their expression is affected when the material properties of condensates change.
