Genetics of tumor suppression

We are interested in early stages of tumorigenesis. How do single cells that have lost a particular tumor suppressor develop into a tumor? Our favorite model organism is Drosophila melanogaster. By exploiting the genetic tools available in this model, we mimic early stages of tumorigenesis and assess the behavior of mutant cells under varying cellular stress conditions. Read more
