Thomas R. Peskett, Sung Sik Lee, Yves Barral "A protein condensation network contextualises cell fate decisions" bioRxiv(2024)

On March 28th, Shweta Saini successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled "Self vs Non-self DNA discrimination in fission yeast". The whole Barral Lab congratulates her!

The review entitled "Microtubule specialization by +TIP networks: from mechanisms to functional implications" by Sandro and Yves with Michel Steinmetz (PSI) is now out in Trends in Biochemical Science.  

On January 25th, Hassan Mustapha successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Genomic and Proteomic Screening for Candidates Involved in the Genetic Immunity of Saccharomyces cerevisiae". The whole Barral Lab congratulates him!

The Barral Lab welcomes Stephanie Crane Weber an Associate Professor in Biology at McGill University as visiting professor for the next 6 months. Steph will study the regulation of ribosome biogenesis, structure and function of the nucleolus.

The new paper entitled "Fission-independent compartmentalization of mitochondria during budding yeast cell division" by Saori R. Yoshi and Yves Barral has been published in J Cell Biol (2024) 223 (3): e202211048.

The Barral group welcomes three new students: Martin Hansen, David Qiu and Yannick Wyss while the Kroschewski group says goodbye to Laura Schenkel.

The collaborative paper among the Picotti, Barral, and Saarikangas groups has just been published on Molecular Cell.

Laura and Ruth publish with coworkers a paper in Molecular Biology of the Cell.

Many comings and goings this summer: the Barral group welcomes Théodore as a PhD student and Raphaela as apprentice and says goodbye to Sandro, Mattia and Maksym and the Kroshewski group welcomes Ronima as a PhD student.
